Flycaster is right, just a short time off of fast food and you wonder what you ever liked about it in the first place. I really does not take long. Once I got off it ands started an exercise routine I too have lost weight, over 60 pounds to date. There are limits on what foods should be part of your diet, but it can be very satisfying, just takes a little experimenting!

Good luck to your father!

Most insurance companies cover the costs of a dietician's services following a heart attack. Education is the key to heart health.  Changes of diet are essential to good heart health after a heart attack.  I've changed my diet, lost over 50 pounds. It isn't difficult at all to give up fast food.  After abstaining from it for a short period of time, fast food loses appeal in a hurry, and believe me, a healthy diet is food that can taste good, be very satisfying.  I wouldn't worry a whit about what other people eat or wants to eat.

Well cut out all dairy, no cheese, no milk, no dairy.  No meats at all, very low sodium foods.  Do eat fruits, do eat vegetables.  No fried food, no fast food.  Etc. Pretty much eat the diet that no one wants to eat
