Aorta Dilitation

I am a 52 year old male. Recently diagnosed via ct and cath with a 4.9cm ascending aorta.
I had a tricuspid valve repair from a bicuspid 38 years ago. My yearly echo indicates mild regurg, normal funtion and normal heart size. My avg bp was 140/90 now via meds it avgerages 120/78.

I am being told to wait and see regarding surgery? Is it possible the aorta will not increase over time beyond the 4.9cm or is it a fore gone conclusion it will eventually increase in size?

Usually, the dx for growth is based on medical history. The aortic diameter gradually increases over time. The normal expansion rate over a period of about 10 years is between 1-2 mm.  It is difficult to estimate sizes, growth, etc. as size is an  individual constituation.
