Artificial Heart Valve

I'm a 41 year old male that has a artificial heart valve in the aortic position that was put in me in May of 97.  My question is my wife and I are adopting a baby girl from China and we will travel their to pick her up, what should I watch out for as far as inoculations and taking medications associated with that trip? Is there anything that I should avoid or watch out for?

My brother had bypass surgery this past december, one month later, his bypasses are blocked by scarring at the suture site.
The doctors have suggested a surgery with a laser, actually making holes in the heart to promote accessory circulation.  Has anyone heard of this surgery? It is being suggested by two reputable cardiac surgeons.  Thank you,  barbara

Dear Benny,
In general there are no contraindications to any vaccinations or travel related drugs for individuals with artificial heart valves.  Enjoy your trip and congratulations on the baby!
