While getting approval for hip athroplasty my hospitalist advised my bp was high (i knew) and that my EGK was concerning. Sent me directly to cardiologist who freaked out at bp and EKG (driven higher b/c I was freaked the &%%$#@ out). Now other than being freaked out, I have never been MI symtomatic. No fatigue. shortness of breath....nothing. Cardiologist all but guaranteed something was gravely wrong. Admitted right then to hospital for ECHO and Cath. ECHO turned out just fine, Cath revealed approx 10% blockage and my hospitalist approved me for surgery and discharged me. Cardiologist never came back? Nurse called to schedule f/u for a month later. Anyone have any thoughts??? All I seem to be able to find for the above is a possible electrolyte imbalance.. I was given a potassium pill while in........again..thoughts?
