Borderline LV Systolic Function

Hi, I went and got an Echocardiogram done. Everything was good my doctor said except it showed I have borderline LV systolic function. Now I'm so scared that something will happen to me... what does this mean and I never have any signs or systems . I got an xray from a chiropractor which showed inflammation in the artery so my doctor sent me for the echo.. Can this be treated??

Hi there. Im not a doctor but have experienced LV Dysfunction myself. Its borderline so I guess you will be  in for the lifestyle modification lecture. No smoking of course, limited alcohol intake and you will be buying good walking shoes,  restricting items in your diet,  The medics suggest 30 min brisk walk most days!! This may be enough with a follow up Echo in 6 or 9 months. It can improve, this is dependent on the root cause and your success in lifestyle changes above.
I wouldnt be scared!! What was your EF in the test? This is an important number. Normal is 55 - 70%. When I was bad in 2014 mine was less than 20%. Thankfully its better now. How is your BP? Its just that high BP over time can cause it. So BP must be properly controlled. If it was worse, you would be getting meds also. Probably one or two tabs a day. Nothing too drastic. Its probably hard to get your head around this, but its borderline and can often be reversed. It seems your heart is doing fine and the Echo is a good function test. The valves are ok which should be re assuring. What artery showed the inflamation you mention in the post? I presume your blood tests are ok?
