Bubble test

I would like a description of how the bubble test is performed.  Thank you.

The bubble test involves injecting a solution in the blood stream and view the blood flow with ultrasound (echo).  Often the test is to view whether any of the soultion is shunted from the right side through a hole in the wall to the left side.  

You will be an a gurney and tech for the echo will move a hand held transducer around your chest area and the echo views the heart and its performance in realtime.  There is no pain or anything that will cause any discomfort.  The test will take about 20 minutes.
