Can A-fib cause a heart murmur?
I have a history of a-fib and flutter. I had a successful (so far) ablation done in January 08. During my last visit with the EP that did the ablation I was told that I have a heart murmur. This surprised me. I have never been told this before. For the past 3 years I have had echo's done every 6 months. Wouldn't a murmur have showed up on an echo? Can a-fib cause a murmur? If not, what causes a murmur?
