Can my SVT kill me?

I had ablasion surgery done for an SVT this July. I am on a Beta blocker wating for the tissue to scar. When I am running my pulse is off about every eight beats. Can that kill me, or cause me to go into Cardiac arrest?

I have (SVT) to, im mark, I had it for the last 4 years, Been rushed into hospital, cant breath, cold sweats, IM ON VERAPAMIL, 80mg, 3 times a day, which it works.
you can be sitting there normal, and it come on, some days it could be worse, I was on 40mg verapamil, they increased the dose, which helps.

I AM NOT A DR BUT I HAVE HAD RVOT-VT, LVOT-VT AND NOW I HAVE A-FIB DR SAID THE A-FIB IS FROM THE LAST ABLATION AND THE DRS TELL ME THAT I WONT DIE FROM ANY OF THEM BECUASE I DONT HAVE ANY STRUCTURAL HEART DAMAGE. CALL YOUR DR ASK IF YOU HAVE THAT KIND OF DAMAGE. GOOD LUCK

i am 24 and had an ablation 5 years ago when i was 19 for svt.
mine got as bad as 230 beats per a minute.

they seem to say that its not going to kill you but believ me i know how you feel. i opted to have the ablation because meds were not working and it was really interfering w/ the quality of my life.

now i have these wierd beats that feel like the are in my throat. really strong. they drive me crazy.
i did not have the before the abolation so i dunno if it was from that. or that i jsut notice them now bcause i have had heart stuff happen


good luck. i am still struggling erveryday w/ this being afraid that something is wrong w/ my heart and i will die from it.
its scary and frustrating to explain to those that dont have it.

Hello, unfortunately I wish I could help you, but I just got diagnosed myself with SVT and just started a beta blocker.   I hope someone on here will be able to give you advice though.  From what I've researched, it takes about 6 months for the tissue to scar.  I have heard of problems such as yours though, and the Dr.'s didn't seem concerned, maybe look through the archives and see if you can find any information.  Would you mind telling me how bad your SVT was and why you chose the ablation?  I'm still looking at that down the road some day.  Take Care, Michelle
