First off, that's extremely unfortunate that your husband died of MVP, but I'm guessing he died of it because it was about 30 years ago... because it's about a 99% chance you live if you have MVP, there are about 100,000,000 people with MVP and if there was a good amount of that 100 mil, this world wouldn't consist of many people... Secondly, if your issues are cardiac, drinking water will certainly not cure it LOL... if it was that simple there wouldn't be 500,000 people dying from heart attacks a year... I love all the different people you meet on this site lol, I'm not sure where you're from, but you're either lying or you've been taught the wrong information. As for Campione, this is the internet. I joined this site for anxiety issues, because of how different and strange they can be. If you think you have a heart problem the internet is definitely not a place you should be, especially when your chest pains are being caused by anxiety. Basically, what the internet is going to tell you is if you have a toe that hurts a little bit, GO TO THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE YOU'RE HAVING A HEART ATTACK! (which is me explaining how either A. Uneducated people on this site are or B. how much they're trying to scare you. And as for websites, they have to say if you have chest pain go to the hospital, because if someone has chest pain and they don't and have a heart attack the next day, they're going to sue the site for giving wrong information. Your best bet is to get your doctor to order you a stress test and if you do well on it, don't double guess it, which I know it will pass. Your insurance will probably not cover the stress test because you don't have any risk factors, which should tell you that you don't have any heart problems in itself, but best of luck.
I fully understand that 25 is not too young to have heart problems, but I've had multiple EKG's, and all came back perfect. I just got back last week the results of my echocardiogram and it was perfect. No mitral valve prolapse, which is what I thought I might have. I already drink plenty of water, so dehydration is not an issue, and I have no risk factors for heart disease (see above for BP, cholesterol, and blood sugar). What I have is constant, it doesn't go away; some days it's bad with sharp pain after sharp pain, and others it's not so bad. Like I said, it's about 2 inches directly below the left nipple, and a little towards the center of the chest. The cardiologist said the heart is in the center/partially left side, and much higher up from where I feel sharp pains. If this is so, why can I feel my heart racing (during exercise) almost exactly where I feel pains? It doesn't hurt when it races, but I feel it pulsating on the left side where you can feel the heartbeat, though it doesn't hurt. I still can't figure it out, but I don't think it's anxiety. What else could it be? This all just happened out of nowhere.....
I just found this site and started reading. 25 is NOT too young to have heart problems, in fact, my first husband was 21 when he died from Mitral Valve prolapse. He had just been diagnosed a couple of months earlier and suddenly died.
I am now 53 and have heart problems. I have chest pains and my cardiologist suggested I was dehydrated. I do notice when I am, I will have pains, so maybe you could try drinking more water and see if that helps.
Na, it's good to be nervous/concerned at times. It keeps you alert about your surroundings... Take care
Thank you so much for your advice! I know I usually get kind of nervous from time to time about things, but it's not all that bad. I will go and see a psychologist to get 100% peace of mind, but thank you!
A. Your doctor is completely right, your symptoms are not at ALL typical to that of people who have angina.
B. You are not at all at risk for heart disease, 25 years old is young, your blood pressure is perfect, and you don't smoke or drink (very wise choice) and you're not at all over weight at all
C. I am not a doctor, but I agree with your doctors and I think it's anxiety. People who have anxiety issues have NO clue until they start seeing physical symptoms and chest pain and left arm weakness can both be caused by anxiety and are quite commonly caused by anxiety. You should go to a psychologist and he will ask you a series of questions and then you might be diagnosed with anxiety. If you don't want to go to a psychologist the best thing for you to do is know that you don't have heart issues and enjoy life. Best of luck and God Bless
