Chest pain

I had a chest pain and keeps burping. I felt like I am choking over the sir in my stomach and I had to burp to feel good.

Consulted a doctor and this was the advise:
"This gastric is an accumulated problem for sometime. Then we will start having reflux. Reflux - some gassy n burning sensation from stomach n goes up to d throat.Since this reflux going tru in esophagus...where d esophagus pass above the heart...we will start to hv fast heart beat"

After a few days I went for an ECG and ECHO test and found that I had these:
1. Mitral Regurgitation
2. Tricuspid Regurgitation

The doctor said that it was a mild one and not to overload my exercise.
Also advised me that this may caused by severe fever during childhood that may cause infection or weight lifting. I dont have any severe fever of do any weight lifting so I am a little worried on what I should do next.
I am 32 years old. 76kg and 170cm in height. I watch my diet and exercise regularly on weekly basis. I dont smoke and only drink occasionally with my family.

I have no idea what I should do next. Please advise?

Thanks.

James

I went to the pharmacy to get some medication for the acid and gastric. Will monitor and see how it goes.

Thank you so much for your reply!

I was told that some people just produce more acid than others, or it can be due to diet. You have a ring of muscles at the bottom of your food tube, on top of the stomach. This can just weaken with age, become infected and weaken for a while, or acid getting above it can inflame it because the esophagus swells. In most cases it all returns to normal, but stomach acid is destructive and it takes a while.

Thanks for your info. Appreciate that!

You are right, I am having diff in sleeping, having short breaths and weakness when I wake up. Will try putting more pillows and see if it works.

I wonder what was the cause of this? Too much of exercise, severe fever during childhood of was born with it?

Cheers!

James

Oh, just to add about your valves. They are mild leaks so nothing to worry about at the moment. You should have another scan next year to see if they have become worse.

I would try some over the counter anti acid medication for a couple of weeks. I took gaviscon for two weeks any my symptoms got better. Also try elevating your sleeping position, use a couple of extra pillows. This worked for me, after 3 weeks I was over it. However, in some people, the sphincter at the top of the stomach which stops acid coming out, can be weak and the only pain relief is to have prescribed anti acid medication for life, Omeprazole is such a med.
