Chest pain and unknown diagnosis
Hello my name is Mike I have hypertension bp runs around 220/140 with hr 100-140, I am on Amlodipine 5mg, Lebetalol 600mg 2x daily HCTZ 25mg, Losartan 100mg, and my dr started me on nitro patch to help will the chest pain I am getting, I did have a cath study but everything came back normal. What would be causing my chest pain?
Also I do check my bp at home frequently some times its high like stated before and other times I have seen it 99/70 and it flucuates between low and highall day, like my body fights the medication I am at my wits end. constantly dizzy feel like I am going to pass out (I have passed out several times now) feel short of breathe chronic fatigue and weekness.

Hi there. Considering all the facts, you need evaluation for secondary causes of high BP.
Have you had a 24 hr ABPM test? This gives 24 hour averages. Its important as it measures night time BP. Normally peoples BP dips at night, rising again from early morning.
Occasionally some patients BP goes up at night time. This is called non dip pattern. It also can be a marker for secondary causes of high BP.
Given your BP with meds, you need review. Have they tried aldactone on you?
Have you had Kidney and Adrenal testing for Adonomata? Im sure you were checked for a Pheo?
I have had a very similar profile with BP and it being resistant to meds. At one point I was taking 400mg Labetholol six times a day!! Plus six other meds. . none worked
Have you had a Renin blood test?
The 24 hour BP monitor is non invasive but a little un comfortable. . it costs little and you should get one soon.

Did they check your cholesterol. Because I used to feel chest pain and all x-ray, ECG, thyroid, Scan brought out good results, it was the cholesterol that was high. I was placed on Statin and advice on lifestyle changes (food, excercises) and that was the end of the chest pain.
I am not a fan of going to the er, I have been there enough, they monitor me for a few hours and send me on my way because they dont see anything and then I follow up with my pcp who is puzzled by whats going on and does not know what to do. The cardiologist and EP ive seen are in the same boat they don' believe its a cardiac concern to go back to my pcp and see a neurologist which I can afford my pcp the visit is 10$ but the neuro would be 250$ an its just not possible for me to afford that as I can not work.
I took the liberty of looking up your other posts, and it seems like you got some good feedback from a couple of people in the Heart Rhythm Community. What did you make of what they had to say?
Thank you, I have been dealing with this since I was 22, I have been through just about every test and they come back normal, except my last stress test 4 years ago they had to stop it since my bp was so high but he didnt seem concerned about it and never did another similiar test. I am on so many meds and my bp still fluctuates so drasticaly, they have even to a left heart catheterization study with normal results, they think the chest pain is just from the bp. But lately I have not been able to do anything with the symptoms I experience, I cant work, walking down the drive to check the mail exhausts be to where I am short of breathe and at presyncope state.
I'm very concerned, and I hardly know what to say. I don't even want to speculate as to what could be causing the problems with your blood pressure and heart rate, but if you were a loved one of mine, I would not rest until we got some satisfactory answers from a medical doctor who could provide both a diagnosis that made sense and a treatment plan that offered hope of getting you stable.
