Consistently very high pulse rate

Hello, My mother is 69 years old. She has had very high blood pressure (200/160) since her early 30's. She lives in a small northern Ontario town where the doctors are at a premium and the good doctors are practically non-existant. She called me this morning saying that her pulse has been over 120 bmp for about 2 months and she sweats profusely. It's not due to exercise, because she never leaves her apartment and she sleeps over 12 hours per day. Can you please give me a hint as to what it could possibly be? Thank you!

All what Jesus said! But I must add my thought. I am from Ontario, and I know might be very different north –east etc. But I am also confident in our great health system in Ontario. Your Mother just need a doctor, somehow  good or not so good ANY DOCTOR …or if there no doctors available then enough a Licensed practical nurse. Please check that for her! I believe them arrange regular visit for elderly if the patient can’t go out from her apartment.  Also the nearest hospital can help, to guide her. She needs attention YESTERDAY!

my best!

I am afraid that can be a variety of reasons, from thyroids to heart failure passing by anemia.

Does she has any other symptoms?

In any case a visit to dr. and some test I think are required.
