I have an artificial Mitral Valve, Long QT Syndrom, Congestive Heart Failure, Tricuspid Valve Stenosis, Atrialfibulation with an AV Node Ablasion and Tursuads and last Pulmonary Hypertension..
The Constrictive Pericarditus is from Infection of the Pericardium I got after my first heart surgery. My Cardiologist has had my pacemaker reset in hopes it will help me get around and breath properly. So far I have been told 3 times they will operate on the CP. But after testing they have said it is too dangerous.
So far I am just thankful for each day and keep ticking.
My mother had her sack around her heart removed due to pericarditis from radiation for breast cancer. The sack was hard and choking her heart. She needed 5 bypasses and the heart scraped of scar tissue. She ended up with a small heart, but with a pacemaker she was able to live another 12 years. Hers was an emergency and without it she had only 2 weeks to live because her kidneys were shutting down. What are your other cardiac problems? How much of a risk? Have they given you percentages of survival rate?
