Could I be having a heart attack?

I'm a 44 yo female and for the past few days (about 2-3 days), I've been having a heavy, achy feeling in my chest on the left side. the achiness is also in my neck and goes to my shoulder. There's no pain, just the heavy achy feeling. I'm not sure of what to think, but I've been reading about how the symptoms of a heart attack are different for women than they are for men. Could I be having the beginning symptoms of a heart attack?

Anyone who suffers heart attack, taking it that it isn't a silent one, will usually feel discomfort for up to several hours and then the heart muscle will die in that area. The discomfort you describe 'could' be angina, but it could also be a number of other things. It's always worth getting a Doctor to check you over.

Any chest pain should be evaluated. If for no other reason to rule out any cardiac or pulmonary condition.  See your doctor. Take care, Ally

If the feeling feels like someone is squeezing your inside chest area, then first try a gas pill.If not then go to your doctor and they will run tests.Good luck

Having this kind of chest pressure for days may not be a heart attack. Usually it settles down after several hours. However, is there a reason why you're hesitant to contact your doctor? If it is your heart, the longer it goes on, the more damage can be done to the heart. Please get checked.
