Depo and PVC's /smoker

Dear Doctor,
I am a 30 year old female smoker. I have 3
questions concerning Depo-Provera and PVC's
1) is the depo shot going to have an adverse
effet on my PVC's?
2) I have a swollen atrium from a recent
pregnancy and do you think it will have an
adverse effect on that as well?
3) Are Depo shots heart safe?
( A girl I talked with said her friend had a
stoke from it at age 28)
Thank you.

Does marijuana or cigarette smoke effect the pregnancy prevention aspect of the depo shot?

These shots are not necessarily heart safe or heart harmful.  they do however cause an increase risk of thromboembolic events particularly in conjunction with smoking.

Dear Doctor,
Thank you for replying. See I was under the impression ( impression from the Health Dept Doc ) that I was not at as much risk with the Depo shot for stroke as I would if I were on the pill. Is this correct?? And I am taking aspirin for my heart will that cut some of the stroke risk from the smoking and Depo?
Thank you.

     1) is the depo shot going to have an adverse

Probably not
     3) Are Depo shots heart safe?
If you continue to smoke  you increase your risk of MI, stroke and clots.

stoke from it at age 28)

You should stop smoking as this increases stroke with the combination of Provera.
     Thank you.
