Dizziness, Heart related or not?

Hello.  I have HCM. For the past year, I've been having problems w/ dizziness off an on.  I'm wondering if it's heart related or something else.  I saw my cardiologist in Aug and told him what was going on.  He said it shouldn't be heart related because my echo looked good and nothing had changed since my last one a year ago.  My EF was around 53%.  My mom today said "maybe your heart isn't pumping enough blood to your head."  But I figure if it was that, I would have other syptoms too, such as swelling, SOB, etc.  Here are some things I'm experiencing:  I never know when it's going to happen and nothing really seems to trigger it.  A friend told me it sounds like Meniers (sp?).  I did see an ENT last year and they did a hearing test, only to tell me I didn't have any hearing loss and didn't do any more tests.  I am in the process of scheduling another appt. w/ a different dr.   I've never fainted or been close, but I often feel kind of like I have "brain fog".  A lot of times while waiting in line at stores or somewhere I feel like I have to lean up against something to keep my balance.  It's worse when looking down or looking behind my back.  I have trouble focusing on items I'm trying to read.  I've had a CAT scan which was normal.   I also have ringing in my ears sometimes.  Alot of times I feel like my balance is off.  I had a lot of problems w/ ear infections and ruptured ear drums when I was younger and have had fluid issues in my ears off and on over the years.  Any ideas as to what it could be???

what heart meds are you on?   in my daughter's case it is the medications that she takes for dilated cardiomyopathy...  they say there may be times when her bp drops and that is what makes her feel lightheaded..  happens more when she is standing for long periods  she will sit for a minute and then be fine...  she also says she feels like she is losing her balance, especially when going up stairs a couple of times   hope this helps

Probably a combination of your ears and sinuses.  Looking down and lifting head up usually has to do with sinuses.  I have had dizziness for over 30 years now.  Mine is from my sinuses.  The doctor prescribed me some dizzy pills which helped a lot.
