Echo findings

Have a stent 3.0x3.2mm drug eluting stent on sept 2011. Due to 30% lesion in the distal right coronary artery & 50% lesion in the distal first diagonal artery.
Recent Echo done on 28 May 2012 results were:
Left ventricle enlarged. Poor Left ventricular systolic function. LVEF = 30-% on real time. The transmitral spectral Doppler flow is suggestive of pseudonormalization. Left ventricular wall akinetic basal to mid anteroseptal, mid inferolateral, mid anterolateral and basal to mid inferior wall. Hylokinetic mid inferoseptal, apical septal, basal anterolateral and apical inferior wall. Mitral valve : Trivial mitral regurgitation seen.
Q: Is this serious and how serious is this and what should I do to improve health. Am on cozaar 50mg, Plavix 75mg, Cardipin 100mg.

Appreciate you comments, advice .

Thanks
Dennis

Dear ed
I went for another second opinion and this time was told by the heart specialist that I need to for a MRI to determine what is the exact cause for this result.
Have set an appiontment for next month.
I will be going for another opinion sometime end this month and see what the outcome is. Will revert.

Thanks again for your valuable reply.

Dear folks,
The both of you are correct. Firstly ed is absolutely right. I had a stend inserted in 2009 and after 2 yrs one day while tracking I felt all the signs and was rushed to hospital where it was revealed that the 1st stend collapsed. The sencond was done in 2011 and was informed that the 1st was not a good one.
jrbon, yes the Doc asked to continue with cardipin and as for my recent blood test the results were Hdl 1.5 Ldl 1.4 Tri 0.7 Total Cholesterol 3.2.
Normal Blood pressure 126/72 Pulse 58. I have an appointment this friday to visit the National Heart Institute to hear from the heart surgeon.
I thank you and please do share your experiences and what you think about my case. Thanks again Dennis

I have to wonder if the first stent collapsed or blocked after it was fitted. The 30% + 50% blockages don't seem to really reflect the kind of results you see with the scan. Even at 100%, I don't think those blockages would cause those results. I don't think we should jump the gun here, further tests are required. There are mentions of both akinetic and hypokinetic areas. The differences in definition are important but there is still a chance some improvement could be made if ischemia is suspected in the hypokinetic regions. Have they suggested further tests.

As you probably knows, those results are indicative of the Heart attack that you have suffered.

How serious it is, it will basically depends on how do you feel and how well you will follow a healthy live style.

As many of us, you are walking now on a narrow track on the top of the mountain and you have to be careful not to lose the balance there ... be careful with salt intake, exercise, healthy food, moderate drink, no smoke, pay attention to your temperature (not cold, not hot), sleep hours, rest when you feel tired and follow your dr. indications. otherwise you are prone to go into heart failure.

By the way, are you sure that cardipin ( a calcium channel blocker) was prescribed AFTER the heart attack? I think (I might be wrong) that this is a good anti angina medication but not that good after the HA.
Is your cholesterol O.K.? Otherwise you should be on statins too.
