I've been told to take 2000mg x2/day fish oil.  I bought a bottle of 1200mg pills.  Don't know if this makes a difference or not, this is "Nature Made" liquid softgels and they are HUGE!!  Wish I seen this before I bought them... Anybody know of any of these fish oil pills that are not as big? Any suggestions?

Liquid would be easier, though you scare me with the bad taste statement.  I'll ask my pharmisist.
Thanks BillyBoi

Depending on where you live, you may be able to find fish oil in the form of a liquid which tastes horribe but you only need about a tablespoon a day or so and its much easier then taking 4 or more tablets. You can put it in juice, water etc. to make it easier to take. Ask the pharmacy or osmething and they might be able to help.

That I have seen in my local pharmacy is two brands.  One clearly says controls Fish Burp, and the other doesn't say this.  I bought the burp controlled one.  The front of the bottle says 1200mg  but the back of the  bottle, the "supplement facts" says for 2 softgels:
Omega-3 Fatty Acids (EPA, DHA, and other Omega-3) 750mg.
Thanks for the info!

I was learning radio astronomy in hopes that would help with learning wave mechanics.  And this went right along with visual astronomy and a slew of other astronomy fields.  However, because of another medical problem I've dropped everything except the occasional imaging of a deep space object. In any case, Yes, radio astronomy is similar to visual astronomy, but, instead of a visual image where each pixel is assigned a color, I would be assigning each pixel an intensity.  Same photons (visual -vs- radio) just longer wavelength.

I don't know, I'm not a big research guy but I am strong on personal results.  In addition to controlling diabetes, losing weight, taking good meds including 2000mg of good fish oil a day, my CAD is arrested.  When I started taking fish oil supplements my HDL raised and my Trigs dropped.  So, I choke down the big tablets.  I take fish oil tablets derived from mackeral, sardines and other wild fish.  Often, fish oil derived from Atlantic and Chilean Salmon as well as BC fish are usually farmed raised and the oil is contaminated by the feed and also the feces of fish in close proximity.

I'm curious... what is radio astronomy?  Sounds very interesting.  When in high school some 50 years ago I joined a club where we made our own lenses and built our own telescopes, I still have mine and love to bring it out to look at the rings on Saturn, Etc.  I'm guessing you are doing some things with the universe that is very interesting!

There may be a very good reason that you have been told to take 2000mg a day. In the UK, a huge study was done on fish oil supplements, over 7 years. It was discovered that many pills are actually a waste of time. Look on the bottle of your pills to see how much EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) they contain in each capsule. These oils are good for the heart and brain, and you need 500mg daily for a healthy heart and 1000mg for the brain. Some pills are 1000mg, but only contain 240mg of the essential oils per pill. So, you really need to take 4 of them a day. It has been proven that EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) has a good effect on the arteries and heart/brain. You just need to find a way to swallow them.
