Every male in my genetic circle were born hairless, became gorillas in our early adult years, with hair on our backs, chests, toes, fingers, a troublesome issue. As we aged we all lost all head and body hair, including toes. I'm the only family member with heart trouble. I'd dismiss this as an urban legend. If I would ask the females in my family about this I would be slapped silly.
I have hairs on my toes, but also heart disease, there will always be plenty of exceptions to rules.
I just saw this on yahoo news a week or two ago, forgot about it and then remembered yesterday to check and I DONT have any hair either and I DO have heart disease. It makes sense to me, your toes are the furthest thing from your heart and if your heart is not a 100% then hair is the last thing your body is going to repair or try to grow. I have had a heart attack and double bypass. It is worth just mention and check up with your doctor, heart disease is the number killer of women. And believe me no one thought I was heart attack material, you dont have to have any other signs or symptoms to have heart disease. Go to your doctor.
I think perhaps Ireneo was close to the mark with genetics. With our Genes, a single gene switched a particular way can affect hundreds of other genes and how they work. This means for example, if we are genetically prone to heart disease, it could state whether we have hair in particular locations or not. Those thing may sound absolutely ridiculous and bizarre I know, but genes are not straight forward in which ones are affected.
This is actually true, I recently read an article about it. The fact that you have hairless toes COULD mean you have circulation issues due to heart failure, but hairless toes would be the last thing your would notice. It does not predict heart disease, it just MAY be an indicator.
Strange but true.

Just want to add that perhaps circulatory problems could cause hair loss but it doesn't work in reverse. Just because a person has little hair doesn't mean they have a heart problem. Same idea that because a person has a cough doesn't mean they have lung cancer. The two are not always related.
That is the most bizarre thing I've heard. I do believe our hairiness is based on genetics. Just look at men: some are as hairless as women (chest and legs) and others are sprouting hair all over. Women are the same way. Some have a lot of hair in places, others rarely have to shave (lucky them!).
