Heart attack

Hello! I'm a 25 year old female. Last year my mother, 52 years old, died of a massive heartattack. Her mom and dad both died of the same things. Her mom was 70 and her father 65. I don't want to die that early. I would live some tips on what I should be doing to help prevent this from happening. Thank you!

May I suggest in addition to eliminating risk factors, that you check out Dr Stephen Sinatra who integrates supplements with heart care.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your mom!

With your family history, I would also definitely advice you to have a Fasting Lipogram done (bloodtest to check you for signs of familial hypercholectorolemia) and to NOT smoke, eat healthy and exercise.

All the best,

The first thing to do is see if they had any major risk factors. For example, were they smokers, did they exercise, did they eat lots of high fat content foods. It would be difficult to know if they had high blood pressure, unless your Doctor can obtain records. As for you avoiding the same fate, you need to just remove risk factors and that's all you can do. So, these include,, no smoking,, regular exercise,, keep blood pressure normal,, have your cholesterol lipids checked,, eat healthily,, avoid emotional stress even if it means changing career. Not easy, society in developed countries seems to be increasing stress all the time, especially with this recession.
