Heart attack?

I am 19 years old.  When I was a little younger I used to get sharp pains in my chest (heart) that only lasted a few seconds.  This happened every few months and after my doctor ran a full test on me, he concluded nothing.

Today without thinking I woke up early and drank 2 cups of coffee.  Following that, throughout the day, I downed 5 Vault energy drinks and 2 Monster energy drinks.  Consequentially, I cannot sleep.

I am now sitting in bed feeling not pain, but a discomfort below my armpit.  My heart itself feels as if it is pumpin either too fast or too slow, I am frequently dizzy and feel like I cannot get that last breath in.

I hope I do not die.  I guess it's a little late to be asking if this is a sign of a heart attack.  I'd go to the emergency room, but my family is sleeping and I do not want to excite them with a false alarm.

Meh..

I completely agree.  My husband was telling me recently that he read an article about alot of young people overdosing on caffeine.  Caffeine is not good for the body and in those large doses, can cause serious heart arrythmias.

The following is a list of potential reactions to caffeine overdose:

1. nervousness
2. excitement
3. flushed face
4. restlessness
5. diuresis
6. insomnia
7. muscle twitching
8. gastrointestinal disturbance
9. period of inexhaustibility
10 rambling flow of speech and thought
11. psychomotor agitation
12. techycardia or cardiac arrhythmia
The good news is that overdosing on caffeine probably wont result in permanent damage, or death.

Do yourself a favor and back off the "energy" drinks.  The are self defeating when overused.
