Heart pain, abnormal rythm, insufficiency...

Hi,

Since a while I'm experiencing abnormalities in how my heart is functioning and maybe you can give me a clue of what is happening. I got a 'prescription' (is that the right word?) to get the ECG done and some other test, but I can't take a day of at the moment that why I post here.

What's the problem.
I had very heavy and stressful last half a year, I mean really stressful (lot's of **** happening in my life to worry about etc..). I had a few times such moments, like someone stepped on my heart, the whole heart area was sort of heavy, completely stiff, i had to sit down and chill out. Especially some 6-8 weeks ago, something happened in my life (it was a huge stress peak) and I suddenly felt a huge pain in my heart which I felt then for 2 following weeks, it was really bad, my condition dropped to none, after that experience I had to think of my grandmother who had a heart attack and didn't even know it - a doctor told her 10 years later. I'm really worried about what is happening with mine. At other time I feel this sort of electricity running through my heart, or something like arrythmetical behaviour. I used to drink 2-4 coffee's a day (european espresso's), I always felt my heart a bit, but i had a good condition, i was jogging almost daily, the engine was working and i was very active daily, but lately I can't get to the second coffee anymore, i have pain sometimes after 1 espresso, i basically am trying to switch to normal watery coffee or drink tea, my heart just can 't take it. What's else can I add to the picture, I always had a low blood pressure (in the morning without any drinks). And as to symptoms, after 1 or 2 coffee's lately my head/mind gets like pumped, it gets so tense in my head (together with stiffness and pain in the heart area).

Reassuming. Something did happen to my heart in the last months or weeks rather, something bad. But is it possible that it was some sort of heart attack or failure then? I'm just 29 years old, but this is no joke, it really is not well. By the way, I heard once 2-3 years ago in a fitness centre (it was my first time in a fitness centre) when I did tests that I have condition like an old man.

Can anybody give me a clue of what is going on?

Thanks very much, Peter.

Peter, I would really just tell you that it is best to go get the ECG done and go from there. Tell the doctor about your concerns and see what the test shows. Then ask about exercise and maybe how to get started. Then stick to it! Exercise to really important for all of us!

I forgot to add: Lately I can't even go jogging as I used to, i make one lap and my heart feels like I overdone it (also stiff but different) and my thinking gets blurry, like unsharp. I used get a 'power-kick' after jogging, like you feel energy is filling you and instead of being tired you actually get active, but now is more like I really need to rest after jogging.

Thanks, I'll appreciate all advises and opinions.
Peter.
