My medical guide book says that a pulse up to 100 is considered normal.
Pulse pressure above 60 may be a medical concern if it is frequently that high. There are fluctuations of blood pressure, heart rate, heart's ejection fraction, etc. to maintain a balance of blood flow between the right and left side of the heart.
The question is about pulse pressure, the difference between systolic and diastolic, not pulse rate. I'm looking for similar answers about what normal pulse pressure should be, and how much it typically fluctuates throughout the day.
A pulse of 40 is actually low, anything bewtween 50-70 is good. Only very athletic people with a very low body fat mass index get down to 50, so you need to question your doctor about your pulse going down to 40.
