It is good to hear that now at least you can swallow.
When I remember your problems on 27th march, I am not surprised that you still have trouble swallowing. I am sure that in the coming days it will improve.
So, yes after what you experienced a few days ago, it is normal to still have some problems now. They must have irritated your esophagus very much during the TEE.
Doctor said yesterday it would go away but I'm still having problems swallowing and pain when I swallow, anyone know how normal this really is?
Thank you, waiting to see if any doctors come in, nurses have been telling me the dr will be in shortly for the past two hours (I'm still hospitalized)
Hi Jessy,
A sore throat for a day or two after the test happens quite often.
In very rare cases, TEE causes the esophagus to bleed.
Normally it is advised that, if your sore throat gets worse or doesn’t go away after a few days, you call your doctor.
If the pain is so horrible as you are saying, I wouldn't wait so long and let a doctor look at it right away.
I hope you recover soon.
