Teresa,
P HTN is pulmonary hypertension which means elevated blood pressure in the lungs. There are many causes of this. Generally, the PFO would be a separate entitiy. A PFO would be seen on an echocardiogram. A PFO is a common thing in the general population, and in most it doesn't cause any problems.
It sounds like you are very frustrated by your care, and I understand. The symptoms you describe are pretty nonspecific and could be caused by any number of things.
RAD on an ecg is not necessarily a bad finding in itself. Overall, it really sounds like you need to be able to sit down and discuss your concerns with a physician who you can relate to and who you are comfortable with. While I wish I was able to see eye to eye with all patients, there are inherent differences in everyones personality that doesnt always make that possible. If you arent getting the right answers for you, I would seek a second opinion.
good luck
Sorry, couldn't get it in 1600 charachters. Palps are worse when I go to bed so he gave me a prescription for betablocker Atenolol po ghs 0/1mo, 5 refills. He says for now, until he gets the results of tests, but also that he has never done this before, telling to take just before bed so I can sleep better. So why 5 refills. I have alert signs flashing before me and I am not sure if I am overreacting. Am I overreacting? The Dr. seems to be taking it rather lightly. Shouldn
