Your prognosis depends on your heart function. Usually, patient with a normal or slightly depressed ejection fraction, down to around 40 or so, have a relatively good prognosis and tend to do very well for many many years. Patients with ejection fraction below 35% are at increased risk of sudden cardiac death. This is why ICD's are so powerful in prolonging survival is such patients. You may need to have your heart function rechecked and consider wearing a holter monitor to assess what those palpitations are.
Thank you for your response, I still have the question of life expectancy, I had done some research when I was first diagnosed, and I read then that a good run with this was 15-20yrs. has that stat changed any.
