I am a 27 year old female, 5'3" and 100 pounds. I have been having problems that seem heart related since my 4th child was born 12 weeks ago. Right after my son was born I noticed my heart was slower than usual - sometimes in the 40's while resting. It seems asymptomatic, but I had a holter monitor done for it, and it was completely normal, average BPM being 79. Low was 46, high was 128. Right after I got my holter results, I was sitting at dinner and had a horrible crushing chest pain while laughing. It was so bad, and so sudden that I went to the ER. They did blood testing and EKG's, all of which were normal. They diagnosed a pulled chest muscle. Ever since this incident 3 weeks ago, I have had terrible intermittent chest pain. Sometimes while sitting, sometimes, while talking, sometimes when standing/walking. There is no rhyme or reason to it. I have had 7 EKG's, all normal. Chest CT w/ contrast - normal. Chest x ray - normal. Sometimes it's a stabbing pain in the middle. Sometimes it's to the left. Sometimes to the right. Sometimes it's a burning pain across my entire chest. I took a round of steroids with no luck, and a round of anti inflammitories....no luck. What could this be....my PCP and the ER drs said it's not cardiac related, but it's so awful! I do have a mitral valve prolapse....Should I worry??
