Hi there, given that there are a number of blockages, intervention is almost certainly required. Often stents can be used to sort the blockages, but given that there are a number of blockages and a total occlusion, the process would head towards by pass.
The positive is the EF at 65% which is great.
Given age 50, your brother should take the advice of the doctor. There are quite a number of problems that require intervention. Doing nothing is not really an option. The last thing he wants is a MI due to the blockages. This would effect everything negatively and could cause permanent irrevisible damage and a reduction in his ef.
He could ask his doctor, but looking at everything, medication will not be anyway near enough to sort things for him.
Be positive but honest with your brother. its his doctors expert advice he needs to take in and heed. He may need a little time to get his head around it, but in the long term he will be better off having it done
