Is sex with heart disease ok?

My boyfriend recently had two stents put in place.  He is able to participate in cardiac rehab and moderate exercise without angina.  If he gets sexually excited, he gets angina.  He talked to his doctor who gave him medicine to stop his sexual desire.  Are there any other alternatives?

Thank you.  He said the doctor told him it would kill all desire, even the desire to snuggle and hug.  I'm trying to wrap my mind around all of this and still support him without being demanding.  Time is what I think too.
Can't argue with doctor.  But being a senior with afib and heart disease without angina my doctor and I think sex is healthy.  I have a prescription for Viagra from my primary care and that is supported by my cardiologist.  Not my answer or suggestion other than to not give up hope and work with doctor to find exercise or other therapy that brings the angina under control.
Thank you.  He is older than I am, but neither of us is what I would consider old.  I'm trying to keep his spirits up and look for eventual alternatives to the medicine.
