The reason I quit Paxil was because of the side-effects.  The only thing that I have found that helps the dizziness is a low dose of Phenteramine 1/2 or 1 pill a day (37.5 mg).  My main concern is whether or not it is safe to take diet pills on a long-term basis.

I also experience CONSTANT dizziness....it's a feeling of pending loss of consciousness all the time.  This has been going on for 13+ yrs. and started, literally, in a heartbeart.  My heart beat oddly and forcefully for a fraction of a second on 11/29/93 and I immediately felt this way.  I was completely fine before this.  In addition to the constant dizziness/lightheadedness, I have a constant dull headache and my heart feels like it is not pumping right.  I've ahd a complete workup, although several of the tests are over 7 yrs. old.  15 different doctors can't find anything wrong.  I feel like **** CONSTANTLY.  It's not a lack of energy, I just feel like I'm going to pass out/lose consiousness all the time and I also feel like I'm in the middle of a heart attack CONTINUOUSLY...standing, sitting, or lying down.  I don't have a life anymore because I never feel well enough to do anything.  Driving is becoming a real challenge.  I am unable to climb ladders due to the dizziness.  I also have an occassional flashing light in the far left of my left eye.  All of these symptoms come from the bad feeling in my chest in the region of my heart.  It is so bad, I'd rather be dead.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Dizzy Gal,

Thanks for the post.

1st a positive tilt doesnt neccessarily mean that you have autonomic insufficiency or POTS. There are a good number of false positives. Additionally, some patients with these conditions do not respond to the medications.

If the cure is worse than the condition I wouldnt continue the medications.  If you havent had a significant impact after a week or so then it probably isnt going to have too much of an impact. There isn't that much difference between generic and brand medications. I also would look into the possiblity of resuming Paxil or another similar medication and looking into anxiety as a component of your symptoms.

I don't know anyone specifically in the Oklahoma area.

good luck
