Thanks for taking the time to respond.
many thanks all of you replied...appreciate it. I'll be seeing my cardiologist on this thursday and this will be one of my question to him.
cheers
The treating hospital or doctor prior to your discharge should have provided aftercare instructions post surgery. I have viewed surveys that evaluate hospital care and records provided there are some hospitals that do not provide adequate information upon discharge and the survey shows many of the patients are re-hospitalized that have not been given proper instructions.
My treating hospital provides written instructions, and I took that to be the accepted protocol, but I am reading posts where many patients are not given proper instructions!!
Larry you should contact the hosptial/doctor for the information you seek. As Jon states everyone has different limitations based on the overall health history, etc. I was hospitalized for several days with congested heart failure years ago, and the nurse read the instructions and gave me a copy prior to discharge.
Thanks for sharing and hope it goes well for you. Take care.
Everyone is different, only the doctor that knows your history can answer that.
good luck,
Jon
Just as important, if not more, is monitoring your blood pressure before, during and after exercise. Your Doctor should set limits on these too. If your blood pressure goes too high you will have to lower the intensity of your regime until you become fitter.
