Is mitral valve prolapse thesame thing as mitral valve reurgitation

No.  Mitral valve regurgitation may be cause by mitral valve prolapse, but not all patients with mitral valve prolapse have mitral regurgitation.  That being said, mitral valve prolapse is the most common cause of mitral regurgitation and up to 50% of patient with mitral valve prolapse go on to develop mitral regurgitation.
