An exercise stress test is often times involved in the work-up and evaluation of a patient with IHSS or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Other tests usually involved in the evaluation include an echocardiogram and/or a cardiac catheterization (only if indicated). The decision on which tests are used for evaluation are based primarily on the clinical presentation of the condition.
Asymptomatic --> echocardiogram, exercise test
Chest pain/Dyspnea --> echocardiogram, exercise test
Syncope/presyncope --> Holter monitor, echocardiogram, +/- cardiac catheterization
Cardiac arrest --> cardiac catheterization, Holter monitor, exercise thallium
You should only ask your question once as this site only takes two per day and you used one for a question you asked yesterday. Others need a chance as well.
It will get answered when the docs have a chance, posting twice won't make it happen any faster.
