Need aorta

I had a CT scan last year, a full abdominal scan. By chance the radiologist found atherosclerosis.
My pcp checked my BP. It was 95/60/45... It has always been ideal. My total cholesterol had always been normal , my hdl has always been between 40-50. Triglycerides always normal.
I quit smoking 25 years ago. My pcp won't refer me to cardiology. She won't do a angiogram to stage my blockage.

I would appreciate any advice on how to evaluate my condition.
What else can cause ath. I do have a chronic anxiety problem

Just adding to above and only because I have the same problem. How can they conclude you have Atherosclerosis  when it refers to: "The buildup of fats, cholesterol and other substances in and on your artery walls (plaques), which can restrict blood flow." by definition. The only thing they can see with a CT-Scan is what is referred to as "other substances" namely Calcium Phosphate depositions.

Anxiety can cause atherosclerosis, it keeps you stressed in fight/flight mode. You need to relax more. You have reached 64 so surely you can now start to chill :) Congrats on giving up smoking 25 years ago, you would be far worse now. Your aorta isn't bad enough to warrant a referral which is why your PCP is refusing. Just relax and enjoy life :)
