Thank you for showing me the connection between my aortic valve condition and aortic stenosis. I definately don't want that to develope. I was able to bring my cholesterol levels within range except the HDL, which is 32. I must admit, my lifestyle habits aren't as good as they where 3 years ago, as I started mixing my diet with more junk food, and getting less excercise. Now I've developed have highblood pressure also. It goes up and down, but it stays withing range most of the time with medication. I've also just been diagnosed with mild to moderate kidney disease. My doctors are trying to keep my blood pressure down to offset the kidney problem, however they said they're not that bad for me to have to worry. I may be able to improve the diet, but the excercise is becoming a very big challenge lately. It feels like walking is the only thing I can do with out getting too exhausted. That doesn't keep the fat down as well as the weight training and cross training equipment I'm used to using. However now I'm motivated, becasue these new conditions are starting to worry me, the CAD and the kidney disease in particular. I'm now back to the beans, nuts, brown rice, fruits and vegetables, fish, and poultry. I feel better already. Again thanks for clearing me up on things.
"and aortic valve leaflets are slightly thickened"
I would check your lifestyle and make some big changes where possible. You have Coronary artery disease and your aortic valve is starting to form stenosis. How is your
cholesterol and stress levels? Keep a close eye on your blood pressure too.
Thank you very much for taking the time to reply to my concerns.
The report indicates there is some leakage (backflow of blood from left ventrical back into the left atrium. Prolapse would indicate leaflets bellow back into the left atrium from the pressure when the left ventricle contracts. You don't have that condition. You have slight leakage that usually indicates the leaflets do not tightly close over the valve opening. Not an unusual and considered medically insignificant.
'The report indicates there is some blockage of the LAD vessel usually due plaque. If that is your true condition, you would have coronary artery disease (CAD). Many people as they age will have some buildup of plague in the arteries.
