Frequency of afibs

I've diagnosed with afib and PACs. My episodes of these palpitations range from 15 min. to 6 hours about 1-2 times a week. I'm on metoprolol. Is this frequency normal for afibbers, low range or high range? Also the medication lowers my blood pressure to about 94/65 - is this normal for this medication? Thanks.

terk,

The frequency of occurence of afib is extremely variable -- your range is certainly not unheard of.  The blood pressure response is fine -- provided it does not give you symptoms.

Depending on your other medical history, you might investigate other medical options.  Talk to your doctor or seek another opinion.

Hope that helps.
