Pain on chest

I've been having chest pains from time to time but on top of the ribcage, in other words where my chest muscles are.  I had pain a week or two ago on my right side, and then on my left side.  Today I had these pains which are sharp and last about a second or two, like a poking in the middle, and then a bit more to the right.  I was short of breath however I believe it was due to just being anxious and scared.  When i started reading some related articles the short of breathness stopped slowly.  I believe I also had some kind of indigestion because this happen after I ate tonight, and also this afternoon after I ate lunch. I am not very aware of how hartburn might feel, and I am thinking that it could be hartburn.  I still feel fulness right now from the food, but it seems like the fulness is gone done...but I have this small pain from time to time, like I said like a poking.  I'm not scared anymore but concern.  What could it be, and what doctor should I see if I need to.

yes, it very well could be that (pectorals or intercostals). Or from the stomach. Or lung or heart.

Once I had my father to the emergency room, and it was only pain in the chest/rib muscles.

I'm thinking it could also be muscle or bone related.... I used to work out with very heavy weights, long time ago.. And I remember when I had to much weight exerted on the chest it hurt from the pressure... maybe this is a consequence of that...what do you think?
