Plavix and low blood count

What about plavix.  My husband is on it and is experiencing internal bleeding and subsequent drop in hemoglobin count to 10.  we are concerned about staying on plavix as the physicians have been unable to determine source of bleeding.

Sorry this is happening to you! I was on Plavix and experienced terrible bleeding. My cardiologist performed a special blood test and found that although Plavix thinned my blood, it was not an effective medication for my body chemistry. There are many others. You may want to have your cardiologist speak directly to your gasteroenterologist. If he won't listen or work with you, it is time to find another. Good luck.

I am calling the nurse at the va today and will ask her about the white blood count.  He is scheduled for a colonoscopy and an endoscopy on the 14th, but this has been going on for over a month now and it seems they are just dragging it out.

A drop from 12 to 10 is substantial and it must be quite a bleed. It isn't easy to see the source of a bleed, even blood collected in the body. Are they saying it's the plavix? Are his white cells elevated in the blood indicating any kind of immune response to something such as an infection?
