treatment

I am 57 and being treated with drugs for my cardiomyopathy.  I take Lanoxin, Lasix, K-dur and coozar.  These drugs make me feel fine.  Does this disease usually get worse so that the drugs no longer work?  Does anyone live 20=30 years after being diagnosed with this illness?

Does anyone know if the drug Amoxicillan ever makes their heart flutter or pound extra fast?  I've been staying off caffeine but since I started taking Amoxicillan this week I've been having atrial fibrulation off and on.  Also, does anyone have any tricks that they can share that will make your heartbeat normal again?  Thanks...

I am 66 years old and have had cardioablation to correct WPW syndrome. Date of the procedure was March 9, 2000. About three weeks ago I noticed my blood pressure was quite low. Readings of 105 over 65 are now rather normal.

Is this in any way connected with the procedure or do you think it is totally unrelated?

Dear Diane,

Heart failure is a long term disease and with appropriate therapy, as you are doing, people may remain asymptomatic for quite some time.  It is often the case that people do quite well for many ( 20 -30 ) years.
