Did you ever find out if your son definately has RVH? My 10 year old daughter had a EKG today and it said possibly RVH. She had the test because since she was little she had episodes of being very tired and weak and having a fever for a few days. Now she is older she describes it as being light headed at times. Not going for another test for two weeks and I am worried. Thanks
Hello, RVH means right ventricular hypertrophy. This happens when the right ventricle has to pump harder so it develops more ‘muscle’ leading to hypertrophy. This is more common with pulmonary stenosis, when the pulmonary valve is narrow and the ventricle has to pump harder. It can also happen in pulmonary hypertension. And in conditions like VSD, the right ventricle receives more blood and has to pump harder. Next course of action would be to identify the cause for the hypertrophy and treat accordingly. Wish you good luck with your sons therapy. Regards.
