Ranexa

11 years ago I had bypass surgery-1RAD-LAD, SVG-RCA. Both are occluded and I have angina. I was started on Ranexa. Are the chances of having a heart attack any greater doing this as opposed to having repeat bypass surgery?

I have taken Ranexa for over a year.  This drug works with other heart medications such as Coreg to maximize amount of oxygen the heart muscle can assimulate, but it doesn't take the place of stents or bypass surgery.  Ranexa won't open up the heart arteries.

Are you scheduled for a catherization?
