Recovery Heart Rate

When measuring one's recovery heart after running...should I take that measurement sitting down after running? or, should I take it when walking after running?

I have actually done it both ways already...after one minute of sitting down after running...my heart rate drops from say 155 to 100 in a minute. If I take it when walking...it drops from 155 to 110 after one minute.

Which of these two measurements is a more accuarte assessment of recovery heart rate. From what I have read...both of my one minute drops are good but I was wondering which is the correct method...sitting? or walking? after running.

Thanks for your time...once again

The heart rate recovery protocols in the cardiac lab would be done after reaching peak exercise and then immediately sitting down.
If the heart rate recovery is greater than 12 after one minute it is very good.
