One year ago, had chest pain, bp=200/1??, heart rate soo high that nurse could'nt count it. They put me on propranolol 10mg twice a day to lower both. Remained the same for days and did't want to come down. Dr. upped it to 3 times a day. Finally come down. Been on the 3 pills for nearly a full year now and just noticed that while resting my heart rate was sometimes lower than 60 but no higher than 63 while resting, watching tv. Told the dr. and they lowered my dose to 2 times a day. Ive been on the 2 pills a day for the last 2-3 days now. Still i notice that heart rate low. (64 while walking around in the house) I called the dr. back today and they are supposed to get back with me. I do feel tired and light headed at times. Now im getting myself so upset that the lightheaded feeling is getting worse. When i get upset my heart used to increase. But now it just thumps harder and not much faster than about 66-68.
I read on the internet that when lowered on beta blockers, that if your heart rate happens to jump up suddenly that you'll have a stroke. Is this true?
Dr. office just called and said that the walking around heart rate is pretty steady and normal. Also that the lightheadedness is normal while slacking off the pill. But I still need some more comfortness. Could it be that im just paying tooooo much attention to my body? I do have 3 mild leaky heart valves. All but the aortic. What is the life expectancy for 3 leaky valves? DR. said i'll outlive them, but at times like this, I get scared and worry. Just need some comfort.Dont' smoke, don't drink, don't and never did drugs, not overweight (130 5"6) and only 31yrs old.
