Systolic pulmonary pressure is an average reading of 25 mmHg. It may be better to evaluate your condition by your symptoms if any.

Class 1: The lowest classification is no limitations of physical activity. Ordinary physical activity does not cause undue dyspnea (shortness of breath)  or fatigue, chest pain or near syncope (fainting).

The next higher classification is class II:
Patients with pulmonary hypertension resulting in slight limitation of physical activity. These patients are comfortable at rest, but ordinary physical activity causes undue dyspnea or fatigue, chest pain or near syncope.

Your 38 mmHg is an estimate, and probably doesn't put you any higher than class 1.  Hope this helps.  Take care.

Hi Ken,
I did see a pulmonologist last Tues and he did a pulmonary function test and I also had a chest xray, passed both these with flying colors.  He asked me a lot of questions and then told me he would have me take a echocardiogram in a year to rule out PH.  Of course I was extremely nervous, and I know I probably did not hear everything he was saying or telling me, so after I got home I though about it and figured out if he was suspicious of my numbers from the echo stress test, don't you think he would have me immediately do an echocardiogram?  Why wait a year?  He did talk about Primary Pulmonary Hypertension since the chest xray and pulmonary function test were good, which would have indicated maybe secondary PH.  He said he was going to send a report to my cardiologist and also to my primary which I will follow up with my primary.  My breathing is still not perfect and he also said this could be from anxiety.  I wanted to say thanks to you and keep you updated.

Hope you are well.

Thank you for your response. Sometimes when one concentrates on their breathing there is increased anxiety and that effects their breathing pattern as well. Wish you well, take care.
