I have herd a lot of problems with this stent. My Cardio.Doc put one in me this last time. And I am still having problems! He has put 2 regular stents in before this last on in Aug.I have gone back to him and he thinks I am having problems else where in my chest. Not my heart because the EKG is normal. It was nomal everytime exept during my M.I.and I was 90% blocked everytime. My question is should I be concerned about this stent? And should I find another doctor????

I had my first stent put in lad, at the very low narrow part.  Seven weeks later a clot formed at that stent.  A second stent was put in next to the first one.Is this called stent thrombosis?  No problem since, except the clot in my left ventricle.  I am on warfarin for that, but it has not dissolved, just gotten smaller and denser.

Taxus stents are generally very good and there are very few problems with them.  I would say that as long as you are not having any symptoms and you are on asa and plavix you are OK.  I am assuming that with the previous MI you did have chest pain.  The rate of stent restenosis is less than 5% with this stent and is more likely in the diabetic patients.  The risk of stent thrombosis is in the thousandths of a percent.
