I should add that they have ruled out Celiac.
They have also taken biopsies of his intestine and the doctor is certain that it is not Crohn's Disease.
Thanks for your responses...
Hypothyroid has been ruled out.
I don't think that an abdominal ultrasound has been done. I was kind of thinking along those same lines and have told her to ask for an MRA to look for intestinal ischemia. That would certainly cause the pain as well as the massive weight loss he has experienced. Not sure about how much of an affect that would have on BP.
He has had bloodwork done several times and I believe they have ruled out infections.
They did ultrasound on his heart yesterday and it came back normal.
He eats small amounts six times a day. When he had a PIC line in, he did gain a few pounds. There is not a certain type of food which noticeable makes him feel worse. There are a few that upset his stomach a little more. Waffles, bagels make him sicker. But he can eat regular toast with breakfast.
What did you mean when you said it could mean his stomach?
Thanks,
Tom
pain & hypotension & fast pulse: have they ruled out internal bleeding?
another possibility for pain and low BP: an infection can cause a drop in BP, and the body would compensate with a rise in pulse rate
Has he had an ultrasound to rule out abdominal aneursym? Has he had an ultrasound of his heart? This blood pressure is extremely low, which could mean his heart, hypothyroid, or his stomach. How does he feel when he eats and does he have to eat only certain foods?
