Professor Stephen Westaby is currently considered the top cardiothoracic surgeon in the world. He is head of the Oxford Heart Centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, England.
He won the Ray C. Fish award from the Texas Heart Institute a few years ago and recently performed a world first by combining artificial heart and stem cell surgery on a dying patient.

Well, call me cynical, but anyone who writes a book about cardiac surgery, probably already knows where the best surgeons are, and just wanted to *mention* their book. Frankly.
Going by www.usnews.com/besthospitals The Cleveland Clinic, the very site you are posting on is listed as the #1 Hospital for Cardiac Surgery (2006). A hospital who is listed as #1 should have the BEST Cardiac Surgeons on staff or it would not be named #1.
