Is there a reason to be taking Lisinopril and Metoprolol at the same time if they are both indicated for hypertension?

Lisinopril and Metoprolol when I left the hospital, now Lisinopril and carvedilol (coreg).  seems like a relatively common combination.

Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor and the mechanism of the agent is to dilate vessels to reduce hypertension.  Metoprolol is in a group of drugs called beta-blockers. Beta-blockers affect the heart and circulation (blood flow through arteries and veins).

Metoprolol is used to treat angina  and hypertension for high  blood pressure. It is also used to treat or prevent heart attack.

My regimen is Lisinopril and coreg (beta blocker).
