Unusual symptom

I know I posted a question earlier, but I forgot to mention a symptom that I always have, and no one seems to know what I'm talking about.

I can feel my heart beat sometimes in my body...feet, back, when I'm laying down.  Is this a high blood pressure thing, a heart thing, or do you think I just have a sensitive CNS?

Just wondering if anyone else gets these sensations?

heart burps? is that what you call them?
are you talking about that feeling like your heart skipped a beat and then when it picks up again it's twice as strong (I call it a 'glubby') because that's what it feels like 'glub glub' hehehe

if it's a big one it sorta takes my breath away

I've had them on & off for years & years and I've never had any clue as to what it is or if it's normal... I've been getting it a lot lately so I've been talking about it and it seems like everyone I know get it!!

p.s. I HAVE been on antibiotics lately

twice in the last 6 months actually - and one time was a 6 week course of doxycycline (for lyme disease)

I agree with krazykitty and ratatat in that it could be anxiety caused. I am more sensitive to my heart rhythm now becaue of my anxiety and for some reaon lately I have been feeling it more but the more I pay attention the more I feel them. When I am busy it is not a problem but when I sit in certain positions I am apt to feel them more. I am not on any antiobiotics just allergy medicine and am about to start Toprol XL again, hopefully that will help with the sensations and "heart burps" I feel as the rhythm changes. Be well.

This could possibly be anxiety related, but equally possibly not. I too have this sensation. Most of the time mine is in the evening as you mentioned and also noticeable. Unless you are experiencing diiferences in rythm, it is most likely normal. My GP and Cardio both said that when you are relaxed, you are more apt to feel these sensations, and they are not abnormal. Some people are more sensitive to this (as I am). This sensitivity in my opinion is more related to anxiety than the actual sensations themselves. I only say this because of the anxiety I have been overcoming due to a-fib caused by high blood pressure. Stay positive, and do your best to slough it off. If you do not feel well, then check with your Dr. If you feel like the sensations are consuming you, I would also see the Dr and ask for help with the anxiety. Again, not to say this is anxiety or other, but try to keep a balanced outlook even though difficult.

I wish you the best.

One of my early symptoms...was racing heart.  Have you guys recently (within the last year) taken any antibiotics???  If so, I may be of some help.

I almost always feel my heart beat - in fact if the room is quiet enough I can often count my pulse without lifting a finger - I've been told that being able to feel your heart beat like that is a sign of anxiety (that you may be having an axiety attack) but if that's the case then I must be having a constant anxiety attack
