Valve Surgery Outcomes

A few days ago I posted a question asking about choosing a hospital based on the number of surgeries their surgeons perform and their outcomes.  The response was to check STS, but when I did I cannot find anything by hospital, only outcomes for the US and Canada.  Am I missing something on the STS site?

Does each hospital publish their own statistics?  Does CCF have such statisitics?  Isn't there a place where these are summarized and compared.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Dear Robert,

Each hospital is required by law to have statistics on their surgical mortality.  These can be obtaine dthrough the hospital directly or the surgeon you are choosing, the state board of health or through the STS database.

It might be easiest to start with the shopital itself.

Best of luck.
